The Kenaitze/Salamatof Tribally Designated Housing Entity provides housing assistance to income-eligible Kenaitze and Salamatof Tribal Members and Alaska Native and American Indian people who live within our service area (Sterling, Soldotna, Kenai, Nikiski and Kasilof north of the Kasilof River).
Our services include:
Tenant-Based Rental Voucher Program
The Tenant-Based Rental Voucher Program offers income-qualified people an income-based monthly rental voucher.
Homeless Placement and Prevention
Our Homeless Placement and Prevention program provides individuals and families at risk of or experiencing homelessness with assistance for expenses to prevent eviction or foreclosure, or to place a household into affordable housing.
Homeless Supportive Services
Our Homeless Supportive Services provide personal hygiene kits, outdoor shelter and equipment, and cold-weather clothing and gear for individuals and families experiencing homelessness.
Student Housing
Our Student Housing program is for full-time students pursuing a degree or certificate and attending an accredited college, university or trade school. Students must provide enrollment documentation.
Sanding and Snow Plowing
Sanding and snow plowing services are available for income-eligible Elders and disabled individuals.
Urgent Home Repair
Our Urgent Home Repair program assists homeowners with qualifying urgent home repairs that pose a health or safety risk, or, if left unaddressed, could result in loss of property.
SafeHome
The SafeHome program assists homeowners with rehabilitation and repairs for issues that threaten the health and safety of the family or property. Assistance may include things such as handicap accessibility, weatherization, energy efficiency, and plumbing.
Residential Opportunity Supportive Services
The Resident Opportunity and Supportive Services (ROSS) Program is available to housing program participants to provide coordination of services to overcome housing barriers or economic instability.
BIA-Housing Improvement Program
The BIA Housing Improvement Program is a home repair, renovation, replacement, and new housing grant program for qualifying individuals and families who have no immediate resource for standard housing. This program is administered by the Bureau of Indian Affairs and federally recognized Indian Tribes.
